It's hard to read because we know that it's based on true events. Knowing that the cruelty and evil that is told in this story really did happen makes it into an absolutely heartbreaking :// "When Trumpets Sound" tells an excellent story in exemplary prose. This portion of TR's life is one of frustration as, after voluntarily surrendering power, struggled to get it back.

Unable to stay out of the fray, his struggle to get back into the action was a ://   And except for a few tears to the jacket cover, the book itself came in excellent condition (and quickly I might add). I can hardly express how beautiful and enchanting this book is.
